Rotary, along with our partners, has reduced polio cases by 99 percent worldwide since our
first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979. We are close to eradicating polio,
but we need your help. Come and join us at Rancho San Rafael Park on April 23, 2016 for a fun
5K and 10K where runners and walkers are all invited.
Polio Purple Pinkie Trail Run & Walk Registration.
Every time a child is immunized, their pinkies are colored purple to show that
they are safe from this crippling and deadly disease. Now with new reports of polio amongst the refugees,
it continues to be of importance to help us fight. The polio cases represented by the remaining one percent
are the most difficult to prevent, due to factors including geographical isolation, poor public infrastructure,
armed conflict and cultural barriers. Until polio is eradicated, all countries remain at risk of outbreaks.
Join us for a fun 5K & 10K at the park on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Race begins at 9am with late registration at 8am. Packet pickup will be on Friday the 22nd at the Peavine Pavilion at Rancho San Rafael from 2PM to 5PM.
